Creating the other side of the face using the Symmetry Modifier

Using a symmetry modifier the face could now be duplicated so that the other side could now be made.

Using a symmetry modifier was the best way to create the other half of the face as it allows the modifications on the first half to be duplicated over to the other half automatically. So any modifications done only required to be done on one side of the face. I found it much easier to use the ‘show end result’ tool switched on so that I could see the face developing as a whole face.

The lines that build the main structure of the face needed to be aligned so that they run smoothly across the face. A turbo smooth modifier was applied in order to ensure that the face didn’t have any bumps, areas of pinching or areas that appeared out of shape. The smoother the lines were on the face the easier it was to create a smoother surface and perform adjustments.
